| The range of skills required for effective plant operation
is complex. In order to maintain quality production, all operators
must be appropriately educated. Roberts & Schaefer Company
(R&S) maximises plant performance by training personnel to
safely and skilfully operate machinery and equipment.
Operator training was part of the services provided for the projects
highlighted below.
HARRIS MINE - KOPPERSTON PROJECT
Norfolk
& Western Railway Company
Kopperston, West Virginia
R&S served as the project manager and did the detailed engineering,
permitting and construction management for this $45 million dollar
endeavour. The goal was to create a coal handling system that
would combine coal from two separate production facilities, store
and load unit trains. Initially capacity was specified as 2 mtpy,
but is now running at double that. In-depth

GRANT TOWN PROJECT
Bibb

Grant Town, West Virginia
R&S created a GOB/Limestone preparation and handling system
with vibratory feeders moving 12" x 0" GOB via conveyor
to where it is wet screened, crushed and dewatered to 1/4"
x 0". Limestone is crushed, dried, pneumatically transported,
and then combined with processed GOB as a usable fuel. In-depth
