R&S was awarded a contract from Lehigh Portland Cement selected Roberts & Schaefer to engineer, supply, build and commission a limestone, sand, coal, coke, iron and clinker handling facility near Union Bridge, Maryland.

The project consisted of a 2500 tph limestone dome storage system and a 1200 tph reclaim system. The limestone is reclaimed from the dome storage by a circular stacker / reclaimer and conveyed to a limestone bin. The limestone is then transported by a bucket elevator to a limestone mill for further processing. The sand, iron, coal and coke are delivered by truck and separately stockpiled by a longitudinal stacker. The material is reclaimed by a scraper / reclaimer to a 400 tph conveyor system which transports the material to individual bins.
