Triton Coal Company
Gillette, Wyoming
We were contracted to design, furnish, install
and commission a coal unloading, slot storage, reclaim and
batch weigh train load out system. It consisted of a truck
dump station with a 535 ton hopper capable of accepting
240 ton dump trucks with material size of 8" x 0".
The hoppers feed two 90" wide feeder breakers rated
at 2000 tph each. The feeder breakers feed a transfer conveyor,
which transports the coal to the crusher station. A 4000
tph roll crusher reduces the material to 2" x 0".
The material is then fed to a 60" wide, 7000' long
overland conveyor rated at 4000 tph. The overland conveyor
feeds a 72" wide tripper conveyor. The tripper conveyor
fills a slot storage coal barn with a capacity of 50,000
tons. Coal is reclaimed from the storage barn with 26 vibratory
feeders with a rated capacity of 800 tph each.
The vibratory feeders feed the load out conveyor rated at
6000 tph, which in turn feeds, the batch weigh load out system.
The batch weigh load out system incorporates a 300-ton surge
bin and a 140-ton weigh bin to load unit trains. A Programmable
Logic Controller (PLC) and Operator Interface Terminal (OIT),
located in the load out structure, control the entire system
from tuck dump to load out system. Ancillary systems include
dust collection, washdown and sample system.
