Roberts & Schaefer Company performed all structural
and mechanical design of product and clean-up (drag) conveyors,
transfer chutes and dedusting systems for the Siam Cement Company's
7500 mt/d (metric tonnes per day) cement plant. R&S also provided
purchase specifications for all associated mechanical and electrical
conveyor components.
Conveyors ranged from 800 mm to 2400 mm in width and from 140
mt/h to 1900 mt/h capacity. In addition to the conveyors, R&S
was also responsible for all material transfer chutes associated
with the conveyor system. Transfer chutes and conveyors were designed
to handle limestone, clay, laterite, raw meal, clinker, gypsum,
cement, and coal products.
R&S was also responsible for the dedusting systems associated
with the material handling systems, and also prepared detailed
materials lists defining equipment and materials that would either
be procured locally or imported. The project included 72 separate
conveyors, eight different width clean-up conveyors, 136 transfer
chutes, and 68 dedusting systems.
